Ohio City's Woodlawn Cemetery features an ornate grave marker which includes a statue of a man and his wife who are buried there--Philip and Jane. The local legend states that they murdered each other; him throttling her with rope while she stabbed him with scissors. Their statue likenesses are said to hold the murder weapons.
However, Philip holds stalks of wheat, not a rope, and Jane's scissors are actually sheep shears. Also, their dates of death contradict the story; Philip died in 1908, Jane in 1920.
